2025 has been a year of transformation for me. I began integrating new healing modalities, like red light therapy at home, alongside daily habits such as meditation, gratitude journaling, and ice face dunking. I also committed to 5:30 a.m. wake-ups — something that felt intimidating at first, but has truly been life-changing.
A new year always brings an opportunity to add healthier habits, but as I look toward 2026, I’m more focused on making them sustainable. Investing in yourself is one of the most important things you can do. Life is busy and full, but you are worth carving out time to pour back into yourself.
When wellness habits are consistent, they become easier to maintain and less overwhelming. Over time, they shift from something you have to remember into something that simply becomes part of your routine. That’s exactly how red light therapy has fit into my life.
What is Red Light Therapy
Red light therapy works by exposing the body to specific wavelengths of light, which can gently support cellular function and overall wellness. Red light therapy is often used to support relaxation and recovery. Many people use it to help ease aches and pains, support skin health, and promote better sleep. What appealed to me most was that it’s gentle, non-invasive, and easy to use at home.

How Red Light Therapy Fits Into my Wellness Routine
Carving out intentional wellness time in the morning has been especially powerful for me. After my 5:30 a.m. wake-up, I meditate for 20 minutes, and follow with six minutes of red light therapy for my face. This helps me feel calm and grounded as I start the day, while also supporting my skin as part of my routine. I then use a combination of red and infrared light for about 12 minutes on areas where I’m feeling tight or sore.
Later in the day, if I have other areas I want to target, I’ll use my Lumebox red light therapy device while relaxing on the couch. I love how easy it is to integrate into my day, depending on how it goes. I’ve also found red light therapy especially helpful for recovery after longer hikes or more intense workouts.
Why I Chose LUMEBOX
One of the reasons I felt comfortable using red light therapy consistently is that it’s considered non-invasive and low risk when used as directed. It does not use UV light and doesn’t involve needles, chemicals, or harsh treatments. I chose Lumebox because it fit seamlessly into my routine, and the device is registered with the FDA, which gave me added peace of mind.
Another bonus is that Lumebox is eligible for FSA/HSA funds, which can make investing in an at-home red light therapy device more accessible. If you have funds to use, this can be a great way to put them toward your wellness.
