Homemade Organic Lasagne with Pasture Raised Beef

A nourishing homemade organic lasagne made with pasture-raised beef, wholesome ingredients, and rich in comforting flavor. This easy family-friendly dinner is perfect for cozy nights, meal-prep, and delicious leftovers for the nexy day.

Lasagne has been a family favorite in my home for many years. It’s a hardy yet nourishing dish when purposely made with organic ingredients.

I am half Italian, but basically it’s all I know. I was the 5th generation to live in my family’s home in Boston and it was there that I learned how to cook Italian food. Lasagne is a classic that I’ve been able to put my own twist on it.

How to Shop For Ingredients

After learning about the importance of buying organic to limit my family’s intake of pesticides, I shop intentionally – and you can too! Meat and dairy are great choices to be mindful of. What the cow eats we eat. Just look for 100% grass-fed beef at the grocery store – and Whole Foods always carries multiple options.

You can find organic ricotta and mozzarella at Whole Foods. You will be mixing eggs in the ricotta, so look for “Organic Pasture Raised.” Hens that roam outdoors and eat a natural diet produce more nutrient-dense eggs – and you can taste the difference.

While you can opt to make your own sauce, I like to buy organic Whole Foods 365 Tomato and Basil Sauce at a fair price. By adding in some fresh parsley and basil, plus the ground beef cooked with onions, you will get a great tasting sauce! It’s a bit easier to do it this way if you have a family and want to be mindful of the time to takes to make this dish.
